The Festival Grand West is an unparalleled cultural event in France, entirely dedicated to Native American cultures. Held at the Cinéma Le Paradis in Quiberon, on the Morbihan peninsula, this festival offers an exceptional immersion into the world of the First Peoples of North America through cinema, arts, and human encounters.

Five days at the heart of Native American culture

For five days, the Festival Grand West offers a rich and varied program:

• Screenings of films (documentary and fiction) about indigenous peoples
• Round tables with specialists and Native American representatives
• Exhibitions of contemporary and traditional Native American art
• Meetings and signing sessions with guests
• Concerts of Native American music

Exceptional guests

Each edition hosts a dozen Native American guests from the United States and Canada: painters, filmmakers, historians, traditional healers, and musicians. They come to share their stories, their worldview, and the renaissance of their cultures. About ten French speakers, specialists in Native American civilizations, complete this program.

A committed cultural project

After a year of reflection in 2022, the festival has refocused its identity around the Native American peoples of the United States and Canada. The ambition is to host representatives of different Native American nations every two years to discuss their history and the revitalization of their cultures. The festival thus contributes to a better understanding of contemporary indigenous realities in France.

The Cinéma Le Paradis, the festival's setting

The Cinéma Le Paradis, an emblematic cinema in Quiberon, offers an intimate and warm setting for this festival. Located in the heart of the Quiberon peninsula, it allows for close exchanges between the public and Native American guests, in a friendly and respectful atmosphere.

Strong institutional support

The Festival Grand West is funded 90% by the City of Quiberon, with the support of the community of communes Auray Quiberon Terre Atlantique. This institutional support demonstrates the commitment of local authorities to promoting quality intercultural dialogue in their territory.
