Fête des Plantes de Pompadour

Two editions per year with the rhythm of the seasons

The Fête des Plantes de Pompadour takes place twice a year: a spring edition in May and an autumn edition in September. Organized by the association Les Jardins de la Marquise, this biannual event allows amateur gardeners and plant enthusiasts to discover, throughout the seasons, a rich and renewed offering of plants suitable for planting periods: spring perennials, shrubs with summer blooms in spring, autumn bulbs, perennials, and fruit trees in September.

A mosaic of exhibitors and garden artisans

Each edition of the Fête des Plantes brings together numerous exhibitors, nursery owners, horticulturists, landscapers, and garden artisans from Corrèze, Limousin, and neighboring regions. Visitors can discover a wide variety of plants: perennials, shrubs, roses, climbing plants, aromatic plants, cacti, indoor plants, as well as gardening products and accessories, tools, garden decorations made of wrought iron, wood, or ceramic. Floral art demonstrations, basket weaving workshops (especially osier work), and thematic conferences complement the offerings, allowing visitors to learn and improve their gardening techniques.

Activities and conviviality for everyone

The Fête des Plantes de Pompadour is not limited to purchasing plants. Activities for children, games, raffles, and personalized advice areas allow for a friendly weekend with family or friends. On-site, a refreshment stand and food trucks offer drinks and food throughout the day. The atmosphere is relaxed, bucolic, and warm, in the spirit of French garden festivals.

An exceptional setting at the Pompadour racecourse

The festival takes place on the Pompadour racecourse, in the heart of the Haras national, a site listed as a historical monument. This green and heritage setting, at the foot of the Château de Pompadour, offers a natural and elegant backdrop for this celebration of nature and plants. Access is easy, parking is free, and the paid but modestly priced entrance helps support the organizing association. Accessible to all, the Fête des Plantes de Pompadour is part of the tourist and cultural dynamic of Pompadour, the city of horses and a charming destination in Corrèze.
