One of the most mythical and demanding ultra-trails in the world
The Grand Raid des Pyrénées (GRP) has established itself as one of the unmissable events in world trail and ultra-trail. Starting from Vielle-Aure, in the heart of the Aure valley, runners set off to conquer the Pyrenean peaks on courses that are as demanding as they are spectacular.
The GRP offers 8 timed races suitable for all types of trail runners:
The GRP brings together nearly 8,000 runners from around the world, spread across the different events. The Ultra 160 hosts 800 solo runners and 150 relay teams, while the Tour des Lacs gathers 1,400 participants. The event takes place over five days, with staggered starts from Vielle-Aure, Piau-Engaly, Pierrefitte, and Luz-Saint-Sauveur.
The courses cross exceptional natural sites: the Col du Portet, the Néouvielle massif, the Pyrenean cirques, the high-altitude lakes, and the summer pastures, offering runners breathtaking panoramas of the central Pyrenees.
The GRP 2026 will take place from August 19 to 23, 2026. 8 timed races from 40 to 160 km on the magnificent trails of the central Pyrenees, starting from Vielle-Aure.
Vielle-Aure, 65170 Vielle-Aure (in front of the Tourist Office).
