Open-air performing arts festival in Blanquefort
The L'Échappée Belle Festival is a flagship open-air performing arts event in the Bordeaux metropolitan area. Organized by the national stage Carré-Colonnes, it takes over the magnificent Parc de Fongravey in Blanquefort every May for four days of outdoor performances.
The program combines street theater, contemporary circus, dance, music, and performances. Companies take over the lawns, groves, and paths of the park to create immersive and surprising shows, often designed specifically for this natural setting.
L'Échappée Belle is a resolutely family-friendly and accessible festival. Many shows are free, and a program for young audiences is offered. The first two days are reserved for school groups, while the weekend is open to everyone.
The Parc de Fongravey is a vast green space in Blanquefort that offers an ideal setting for the festival. Its meadows, shaded paths, and wooded areas host the various stages and artistic installations.
The L'Échappée Belle Festival returns in May 2026 to Parc de Fongravey in Blanquefort.
