Engaged festival mixing music, ecology and conviviality in the heart of the Norman bocage
Created in 2018 by Frédéric Lamotte d'Argy and the association La Marette, the Les Pluies de Juillet festival has quickly established itself as a must-attend event on the cultural and engaged scene of the Manche region. The festival aims to raise public awareness of the ecological transition through music, debates, and meetings.
Over three to four days, the festival offers a varied program: concerts with national and international artists, conferences and debates on environmental issues, film screenings, theater and dance performances, as well as numerous participatory workshops. Among the artists who have graced the festival's stage are Arthur H, Étienne de Crécy, French 79, Pomme, Miossec, and the duo Amadou et Mariam.
Initially organized in Villedieu-les-Poêles-Rouffigny, the festival was held in Tanu from 2022 to 2025 before moving to Champrépus in 2026 for its ninth edition. The site hosts a temporary radio station (France Imper), bike transhumances to discover local farms, a workshop village, and organic catering prepared with 24 regional producers.
Since its creation, Les Pluies de Juillet has experienced continuous growth, increasing from a few hundred participants to over 5,400 festival-goers during the 2024 and 2025 editions. The festival cultivates a family-friendly and accessible atmosphere, with free admission for children under 12 and equipped camping on site.
The 9th edition of Les Pluies de Juillet will take place from July 17 to 19, 2026, in Champrépus (50), Normandy, under the theme « Bâtir nos jours heureux ». Headliners include Miossec (Friday) and Pomme (Saturday), as part of a program combining concerts, shows, conferences, workshops, and a local producers' village.
Les Pluies de Juillet returns from July 17 to 19, 2026, for its 9th edition in Champrépus (50), in the heart of the Norman bocage. A committed festival, it uses music and arts to raise awareness of socio-environmental issues.
The 2026 theme, « Bâtir nos jours heureux », invites resistance to societal distrust by proposing counter-narratives around social justice, solidarity, and ecology. Beyond concerts, the festival offers shows, conferences and round tables, workshops, radio (France Imper), screenings, and a village with local producers and artisans.
To sustain the project in the face of financial difficulties, the organizing association has launched an economic model based on presales: it is the festival-goers who, through their early bookings, secure the holding and format of the edition.
