Four free stages in the city center on June 21, 2026
Every June 21, Chalon-sur-Saône celebrates the Fête de la Musique: music resonates on every street corner of the city center to celebrate the first day of summer. Organized by the City of Chalon-sur-Saône, the day is entirely free and takes over squares, terraces, and bars, featuring local bands and artists of all styles.
As everywhere in France since 1982, the Fête de la Musique transforms Chalon-sur-Saône into an open-air stage every June 21. Music freely takes over public spaces to celebrate the first day of summer, from early evening until the heart of the night, in all genres and for all audiences.
For the 2026 edition, the City of Chalon-sur-Saône sets up its program on four stages spread throughout the center: the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, the Place Saint-Vincent, the Place du Port-Villiers, and the Place de Beaune, the latter dedicated to electronic music. In addition to these official stages, there are concerts in bars and restaurants, which animate their terraces and rooms, as well as numerous initiatives by musicians playing in the streets of the center.
Each year, the City selects local bands wishing to perform on stage and publishes a leaflet detailing the day's program as the event approaches.
The Fête de la Musique 2026 in Chalon-sur-Saône will take place on Sunday, June 21st, with free admission in the city center. The City will set up four stages — Place de l'Hôtel de Ville, Place Saint-Vincent, Place du Port-Villiers, and Place de Beaune (electronic music) — complemented by concerts from bars, restaurants, and street musicians.
For the 2026 edition, the City of Chalon-sur-Saône will distribute its program across four stages in the city center:
Main stage in the heart of the city, programmed by the City from a selection of local groups.
Stage set up in the historic district, around the Saint-Vincent collegiate church.
Stage on the banks of the Saône, in the city center.
Stage entirely dedicated to electronic music.
In addition to these four official stages, there will be concerts from bars and restaurants on their terraces and in their venues, as well as musicians playing freely in the city center streets. Details of the program per stage (artists and schedules) will be announced by the City closer to the event.
