The Salon Gourmand de Chalindrey: A Showcase of Local Terroir

Organized by the Town of Chalindrey, the Salon Gourmand is a spring event dedicated to gastronomy and artisanal know-how in the south of Haute-Marne. Hosted at the Salle Perrot socio-cultural center, this friendly event brings together about thirty local producers and artisans who share their passion with a curious and gourmand public. The stated goal is to promote artisanal excellence and offer a unique experience, allowing visitors to interact directly with producers, without intermediaries.

Around Thirty Exhibitors and Producers

The Salon Gourmand highlights the diversity of the Haut-Marnais region and neighboring areas through a wide range of products:

  • Cheeses: regional specialties including Langres AOP and other farmstead cheeses
  • Cured Meats: artisanal sausages, terrines, and pâtés
  • Honeys and Jams: local productions of flowers, forest fruits, and seasonal fruits
  • Breads and Pastries: artisanal bakery specialties and sweets
  • Beverages: craft beers, fruit juices, syrups, and other local drinks
  • Fine Products: oils, spices, condiments, and other gourmet delicacies

Each exhibitor is selected for the quality of their products and their local roots, guaranteeing visitors an authentic and nearby offering.

Culinary Animations and Demonstrations

Beyond the producers' market, the Salon Gourmand offers a program of various activities that punctuate the weekend:

  • Fruit and Vegetable Sculptures: a free and participatory demonstration that fascinates young and old, offered on Sunday
  • Guided Tastings: producers invite visitors to discover and savor their specialties
  • Free Raffle: numerous prizes to be won, offered by the exhibitors
  • Refreshments and Treats: waffles, cotton candy, and drinks, with proceeds going to the town's school trips

On-site Catering

For lunch, food trucks are set up outside the socio-cultural center and offer a varied catering selection. Visitors can take their time to have lunch on-site while enjoying the friendly atmosphere of the fair. The indoor refreshment stand complements the offering with waffles, cotton candy, and drinks.

A Family-Friendly and Accessible Event

The Salon Gourmand aims to be an event open to all, in a spirit of friendliness and simplicity. Admission is free and parking is free, making the event accessible to all families. Children find their joy in the participatory activities while adults enjoy meeting artisans and tasting products. On Saturday evening, the fair remains open until 10 PM, offering a more festive evening atmosphere.
