About Fest'Oie
Sarlat Fest'Oie is a gastronomic and festive event dedicated to goose, an emblematic animal of Périgord. Every year, on the first weekend of March, the medieval center of Sarlat-la-Canéda transforms into an open-air kitchen: over 1,000 guests taste thirteen dishes entirely dedicated to goose during the giant banquet, while culinary demonstrations, free tastings, workshops, and children's activities liven up the squares and alleys of the city.

In the heart of the medieval city of Sarlat, Fest'Oie invites you to rediscover the goose, an emblematic animal of Périgord long overshadowed by duck. For over fifteen years, this popular festival has put the Périgord goose back at the center of local gastronomy.
The Giant Banquet
The highlight of Fest'Oie, the banquet brings together over 1,000 guests for thirteen dishes entirely dedicated to goose: pâté, foie gras, roasted magret, goose confit, cassoulet, and many other preparations. Seats are extremely sought after and tickets sell out in minutes.
A Weekend of Celebration
For two days, the medieval squares and alleys of Sarlat come alive with culinary demonstrations, free tastings, and workshops where chefs share their secrets. Children enjoy dedicated activities such as goose quill calligraphy or pottery painting. In the evening, the Bodég'Oie transforms the Place de la Liberté into a popular festival animated by bands.
