SwimRunMan Vassivière, the swimrun adventure in the heart of Limousin
Since 2016, SwimRunMan Vassivière has transformed Lake Vassivière into a playground for swimrun enthusiasts. This spectacular discipline, born in Sweden in the Stockholm archipelago, consists of alternating sections of running and open water swimming in an exceptional natural setting. The courses cross the islands and shores of the lake, offering breathtaking landscapes.
Several formats for all levels
The event offers several distances to suit all profiles: Experience (1.6 km swim + 6.7 km run, discovery format), Sprint (2.5 km swim + 11.15 km run), Classic (4.3 km swim + 18.9 km run) and Half (6.9 km swim + 30.6 km run), the latter being ÖTILLÖ Merit Race labeled and qualifying for the world final in Sweden.
On Saturday, a Night & Day event (night sprint on Saturday evening + sprint on Sunday morning, under the summer solstice) completes the program, as well as a SwimRunMan Kids which allows children (Poussins, Pupilles, Minimes categories) to get started in the discipline over adapted distances.
A magnificent natural setting
Lake Vassivière and its 1,000 hectares offer an ideal terrain for swimrun, with clear water between 20 and 24 °C in June and a positive elevation gain of approximately 790 m on the Half format. The courses cross the communes of Peyrat-le-Château, Beaumont-du-Lac, Faux-la-Montagne and Royère-de-Vassivière, in the heart of the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Natural Park. The organization claims a "zero impact obligation" approach on these exceptional natural sites.
