A sporting weekend around Lac de Vassivière

For its 29th edition, the Tour du Lac de Vassivière extends over two days, Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the Auphelle site, in front of the Maison de Vassivière. Organized by the KM42 en Limousin and Terra Sports 23 associations, the event brings together runners and walkers in the heart of the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Natural Park.

Saturday, June 27: Nordic walking

Saturday is dedicated to Nordic walking, with a main 26 km route labeled National Nordic Tour, starting at 1 PM from the Auphelle site. A shorter discovery formula complements the event. The route follows the lake's shore paths, with several refreshment points along the way and at the finish.

Sunday, June 28: running races

On Sunday, it's time for running with the main event, the 23.4 km Tour du Lac road race, which goes all the way around the lake with approximately 250 m of positive elevation gain and four refreshment stations. A 9.5 km trail run is also offered, as well as children's races (800 m and 1,600 m), which are free. The 23.4 km Tour du Lac is open to licensed and non-licensed participants and is limited to 1,200 bibs.

An exceptional natural setting

With its 1,000 hectares and 45 km of indented shores, Lac de Vassivière offers a magnificent setting. The route crosses the communes of Peyrat-le-Château, Royère-de-Vassivière, and Faux-la-Montagne, with spectacular panoramic views of the lake and the Limousin forests.
