About XTERRA Vassiviere
XTERRA Nouvelle-Aquitaine is the French leg of the XTERRA cross-triathlon world circuit, organised annually in June at Lake Vassivière, in the Millevaches en Limousin Regional Natural Park. The event brings together triathletes and trail runners for multi-format events (Full, qualifying for the XTERRA World Championships, Sprint, Super Sprint) and a complete trail running program (8 to 40 km).
The setting — wild lake, granite forests, trails between shores and heights — makes it one of the most exotic stages on the European XTERRA calendar. The start and finish are located near camping Paradis on the lake shores.
A qualifying stage of the XTERRA World Circuit
Since its creation in 2020, XTERRA Nouvelle-Aquitaine has established itself as the essential French cross-triathlon stage. The main event, the XTERRA Full (1.5 km swim, 33 km mountain biking, 10-11 km trail), qualifies for the XTERRA World Championships, organised in Molveno, Italy.
Several formats for all profiles
The event offers several distances to allow everyone to discover cross-triathlon or take on a more ambitious challenge :
- XTERRA Full : 1.5 km swim / 33 km mountain biking / 10-11 km trail
- XTERRA Sprint : 500 m swim / 14 km mountain biking / 5 km trail
- XTERRA Super Sprint : 250 m swim / 7 km mountain biking / 2.7 km trail
- XTERRA Kids : aquathlon adapted for youngsters
- Trail runs : 100 % running races from 8 to 40 km
Lake Vassivière, a natural playground
Lake Vassivière offers an ideal body of water for open water swimming, with calm and sheltered water. The mountain biking and trail routes cross forests, granite trails, and riverside paths, in a preserved environment of the Millevaches Regional Natural Park.

The event is organised by Terra Sports 23 under the XTERRA Planet banner. Registrations are made online on the njuko platform, accessible from the official website.
XTERRA Vassiviere — edition 2026
The 7th edition of XTERRA Nouvelle-Aquitaine will be held on Saturday, June 13th and Sunday, June 14th, 2026 at Lac de Vassivière. Cross-triathlon (Full World Championship qualifier, Sprint, Super Sprint, Kids), trail running races from 8 to 40 km, and new for 2026: a Millevaches Triathlon in classic format on Sunday.
A 7th edition in two parts
The 2026 edition of XTERRA Nouvelle-Aquitaine spans two full days, Saturday, June 13th and Sunday, June 14th, on the shores of Lac de Vassivière. New for 2026: the event is expanded with a "Triathlon des Millevaches" component on Sunday, in a traditional triathlon format (road), complementing the usual XTERRA cross-triathlon program on Saturday.
Saturday, June 13th — XTERRA Cross-Triathlon Day
Saturday is dedicated to XTERRA off-road events: Full cross-triathlon qualifying for the XTERRA World Championships in Molveno (Italy), Sprint, Super Sprint, Duathlon Kids, and relay formats. Several trail running races complete the day, over distances from 8 to 40 km.
Sunday, June 14th — Triathlon des Millevaches (new for 2026)
For the first time in 2026, a traditional format triathlon is organized on Sunday, under the banner "Triathlon des Millevaches": L (long distance), M (medium distance), and S (sprint) formats, with relay options. Millevaches registrations go through a dedicated njuko ticketing system, distinct from that of the XTERRA events.
Flagship format: XTERRA Full
The XTERRA Full remains the emblematic event of the weekend: 1.5 km of open water swimming in Lac de Vassivière, 33 km of mountain biking between granite, forest, and lakeside trails, and 10-11 km of trail running. The format is a qualifier for the XTERRA World Championships 2026.

Access
Lake Vassivière is located approximately 1 hour from Limoges, Guéret, and Brive-la-Gaillarde. The starting site is located near camping Paradis (municipality of Beaumont-du-Lac / Auphelle).
