29th edition of A Fiera di u Casgiu, the great fair of Corsican farm cheeses, organized in Venaco (Haute-Corse) on May 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2026. Three days of celebration centered around Corsican cheese: regional farm cheese competition, manufacturing demonstrations (brocciu, fresh cheeses), pastoral workshops, musical entertainment, and direct sales from producers.
A Fiera di u Casgiu 2026 — The Venaco Cheese Fair
On May 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 2026, the village of Venaco, in the heart of Corsica (Haute-Corse), will host the 29th edition of A Fiera di u Casgiu, the regional fair of Corsican farm cheeses. The event, organized by the association « A fiera di u casgiu » (Le Château, 20231 Venaco), coincides with the peak production period for the island's farm cheeses.
The fair features several highlights: the regional competition for Corsican farm cheeses, manufacturing demonstrations (brocciu, fresh cheeses), wine and cheese pairing workshops, interactive culinary activities, pastoral demonstrations (sheep shearing), as well as discussions on pastoralism and sustainable development.
Regarding the 2026 program: official opening on Friday, May 1st, in the late afternoon followed by a concert by Felì in the evening; Saturday, May 2nd, fairground opens at 9 am, cheese making demonstrations and a musical evening with Blu Mood; Sunday, May 3rd, traditional mass, wine and cheese workshop, announcement of the regional competition results, and a shearing demonstration. Fairground entrance is 2 € per person, with free shuttles from the village.
